Born in Shimonoseki City, Yamaguchi Prefecture of Japan,
Ms. Hakuno worked odd jobs there, ranging from a summer work in a noodle shop to hawking
school uniforms. She moved to Osaka where she worked for the TVCM production company for
seven years, and took a one year sabbatical in Los Angeles where she did some illustration
for a Japanese language television station and slaved in a Okonomi-yaki shop.
Tired of odd jobs, Ms. Hakuno eventually returned to Osaka
where she set up shop as a freelance storyboard artist, producing art for various
advertising agencies and production studios for a decade. During this time, her experience
honed her drawing skills, such that her manga illustration has been published by Kodansha
in their Comic Morning magazine.
Presently, Ms. Hakuno is staying in the United States in
Colorado Springs, Colorado, expanding her skills toward animation and digital art with
Photoshop, Premiere, Painter, and Macromedia 2D on her PowerMacintosh. Will she be
staying longer in the U.S. or heading back home to Japan? She hasn't decided yet, but
needless to say, she is always ready to try new and different things.
